An immortal asshole, a cyborg from the future, the tin man from 'the Wizard of Oz' on steroids, a pre-pubescent arsonist, and a woman too good for this franchise. What does this all add up to? A family, at least in the wacked out world of Deadpool 2.
While it may not be the 'family friendly' movie Wade Wilson promises, it does have a 'heart warming' message to its audience;
Family isn't about blood - it's about spilling bad guys blood together.
Breaking the fourth wall more times than can be counted in the surprisingly short run time of just about ninety minutes, this movie sets a new record for a franchise poking fun at itself.
Following Marvel's usual pattern of breaking the stereotype of terrible sequels, (besides the unspeakable X Men... We just don't count them anymore.) Deadpool 2 gives to the viewer everything we fell in love with in the first movie -including everyone's favourite cab driver, Dopinder (played by Karan Soni). Director, David Leitch, giving all new joys to fans in this film too - like forever having the image of Ryan Renolds with the bottom half of an 18 month old burned into your mind...
Giving a much needed laugh to Marvel fans after the devastation that was 'Avengers; Infinity War', Deadpool is an oddly fresh breath of air...
Yeah, never thought that would be something to describe the nonsense of Wade Wilson either.
Putting the nail in the coffin with a soundtrack as awesome as the film itself, including hits from Celine Dion, Dolly Parton, Cher, and Skrillex - just to name a few - the entire production from start to finish sets a new bar, with help from 'Thor Ragnarok', for all action comedies to come.
Never once losing your attention, it truly is a movie that will keep you laughing.
5/5 , would pay to see again.
